Edwin People update,
The School Teachers’ Pay and Conditions Document (STPCD) 2024 has now been laid before parliament. The key notable change being an increase of 5.5% to all teachers pay ranges and allowances effective from 1st September 2024.
The document now enters a 21-day "praying period", following which it officially comes into force on 8th November 2024.

Next Steps:
Once the praying period concludes the document comes into force, maintained schools will then need to implement the backdated pay increases to 1st September 2024. Academy Trusts will need to consider the key changes in line with their own pay policy and look to ratify teacher pay increase recommendations with the appropriate committee of the Trust Board.
